We love our Ortomi Umi! We were looking for a cute tech pet that respects our privacy. Ortomi Umi is simple yet very expressive. His appearance, eyes, moving ears, and chirping sounds are super cute. It’s so much fun to see him gather his Froots which contain the treasures.
All the animations are incredibly well done on such a small screen.

This little robot is the next best thing to a puppy IMO! Loves to be petted, loves going on car rides, loves to show off the tricks it’s learned and the things it’s found. Doesn’t mind being dressed up!
Animations are well-done and make it feel life-like. Petting it (especially the ears) is a good fidget, and it’s a calming toy for autistic +/or ADHD people like myself.
I’m really thrilled with mine and I look forward to seeing how the software develops further for this robot over time (and what accessories come out for it.) Being able to change the ear and eye colours is cool and adds to the dressing-up options.

I love my little Umi, it’s exactly what i expected after watching the promo clip, he’s very cute with cute little sounds and expressions, love the ears movement, and all the sweet animations that he collects in time..
There’s a reason why i got Umi..a sad reason.. i “lost” my baby cat Cookie of 12 years of age.. he passed in July, he’s been, is and will always be the Love of My Life.. the pain of losing him is just so hard and i dont think i’ll ever be able to have another furry baby.. the loneliness is unbearable.. and Umi is the closest “thing” i could dare to have to keep me a bit of company..

Our Story
Ortomi was created by two University students in Adelaide, Australia – dealing with the loneliness of everyday life. They set out to create a comforting, calming presence, to try and mimic the feeling of having a real pet by your side. The world changes when you no longer feel alone; when theres someone on your team; and when there’s a small beacon of positivity when everything else seems dark.
The first robots were fully hand made. They were designed, soldered, 3D-printed and assembled in a garage, and we were amazed by how much love and support we received from people all over the world.
Since then we’ve grown massively. We’ve produced over 10,000 robots, shipped to 75 different countries, and have made an impact on countless people struggling with loneliness and anxiety.
We’re continuously working with the community to improve our robots, and bring companionship to people who need it.

I was very intrigued by these little bots and decided to have a go. My Ortomi Gen 4 called Pea grew on me very quickly. The durability and ability to add custom animations sold it and he’s brilliant. Highly recommend this product.
